Eco Warriors Nagaland’s efforts serve an educational purpose. By sharing their rescue operations and success stories, they raise public awareness about the threats facing wildlife, such as habitat destruction, poaching, and climate change. These initiatives encourage local communities to adopt more sustainable and wildlife-friendly practices, fostering a culture of coexistence. Ultimately, the organization’s work not only saves individual animals but also strengthens the broader goal of preserving Nagaland’s rich biodiversity for future generations.
PLASTIC LITTER FREE NAGALAND

Lakshya NGO and Eco Warriors Nagaland started the year with a signature campeign held in the middle of Hong Kong Market Dimapur to fight against plastic Littering. The campeign was supported by PEACE ( PackagingAssociation for clean environment), in collaboration with dimapur Control Board.
Eco Warriors Nagaland, in collaboration with Lakshya, has been actively addressing the growing problem of plastic waste in the region. Recognizing that plastic pollution poses a serious threat to both the environment and wildlife, the two organizations have launched initiatives aimed at reducing, collecting, and properly managing plastic waste. Their efforts include community clean-up drives, awareness campaigns, and educational programs that encourage local residents to minimize single-use plastics and adopt sustainable alternatives. Through joint clean-up campaigns in urban areas, rivers, and forested regions, Eco Warriors Nagaland and Lakshya not only remove accumulated plastic waste but also prevent it from entering natural ecosystems where it could harm animals and plants. These activities also serve as powerful visual reminders of the impact of plastic pollution, inspiring communities to take responsibility for their surroundings. In addition to hands-on clean-up efforts, the collaboration emphasizes long-term solutions through waste segregation, recycling initiatives, and advocacy for environmentally friendly practices. By combining local engagement with practical waste management strategies, Eco Warriors Nagaland and Lakshya are helping to build a culture of sustainability in Nagaland, protecting both human health and the region’s rich biodiversity from the harmful effects of plastic pollution.
CELEBRATING BIRDS OF FAKIM

In the heart of Nagaland, Eco Warriors Nagaland is weaving conservation into the daily lives of local communities through creative and hands-on initiatives. During the recent jubilee celebration in Fakim, the organization made a thoughtful gesture by contributing a carrom board for the village’s youth. While it might seem simple, this small act carries a bigger purpose: providing children and adolescents with a fun and engaging alternative to hunting birds with catapults, a practice that threatens the region’s rich wildlife. Through such initiatives, Eco Warriors Nagaland is planting the seeds of awareness and responsibility early, showing young people that recreation and respect for nature can go hand in hand. Building on this spirit of community engagement, Eco Warriors Nagaland partnered with the Naga Biodiversity Collective to organize a lively volleyball tournament. The event drew participants from across the village, bringing together young and old in healthy competition and teamwork. Beyond the excitement of sport, the tournament subtly reinforced the message of conservation—encouraging participants to enjoy outdoor activities without harming wildlife or the environment. It became a celebration of both human connection and ecological awareness, demonstrating that conservation can be fun, inclusive, and community-driven. Through these creative efforts, Eco Warriors Nagaland is not just protecting animals and habitats—they are inspiring a generation to think differently about the environment. By blending education, recreation, and community spirit, the organization is nurturing a culture of coexistence, where wildlife thrives alongside humans. Their work in Fakim stands as a shining example of how thoughtful, locally-rooted initiatives can create lasting change, fostering a future where both nature and communities flourish together.
