WORLD FORESTRY DAY & WORLD ENVIRONMENT DAY

The Eco warriors Nagaland proposed to Shri Suman IFS DFO Wokha forest dept to hold a drawing writteing competition on account of world forest day 21st March 2022. Which Sir accepted the proposal and so the competition went off well. A total of 43 students including outside states participated in the comprtition, although the competition was held solely for Nagas. Here were the winners of the drawing and essay competition for primary students of Nagaland from class2-8 aimed at awareness on loving our natural world along with the state bird and animal of Nagaland. Young enthusiastic students from various private and government school compete in this competition with positive feedbacks on our natural world and the animals that inhabit it.

Great Back Yard Bird Count (GBBC) 18-21/02/2022

The great backyard Bird count went underway on the 18th of February 2022 and the Eco warriors Nagaland assisted in various bird watching and bird watching workshop programs in various districts and schools of Nagaland the great backyard Bird count is a global count, during which thousands of birdwatchers all across the world look for birds for four days in February each year. The Eco Warriors Nagaland spearheaded the programs in kohima Dragopan breeding centre, Nagaland Zoological park Dimapur and parts of Kiphire district. A total of 120 species of birds were added to the Ebird app and the Eco Warriors assisted in a work shop program on bird watching in Unity College Dimapur with the eco club members. The event lasted four days starting from 18th Feb to 21st February 2022.

Engaging with Students at Nature learning Centre at Zoological park

Dimapur 18th March 2021: Kiphire wildlife division organized a training program under the National Mision on Himalayan studies (NHMS) implemented by the ministry of environment, Forest & climate change, on 18th March 2021 at Nature learning centre Nagaland Zoological Park, Rangapahar Dimapur.The programme was attended by eighty four participants in total. i.e fifty nine students and the staffs of Government middle school Serbura and twenty staffs from Kiphire Wildlife division  to Nagaland Zoological Park and Eco Warriors Nagaland team.The wildlife warden, Kiphire, Shri Suman WM sivachar IFS, DCF welcomes the students and staffs of government middle school, darogajan to Nagaland zoological park, he also introduces SHRI Rama Shankar Prasad IFS, ACF Dimapur Division who was present in the programme, message from sir, he talked about the importance of conservation and different types of zoo in the country, also he encouraged the students to dream big in life while, he shared the roles of Ind ian forest officers and how as a student should become a part of conservation
