PROFILE
Ms. Rotoli K Sumi
I am Rotoli K. Sumi, a Civil Engineering graduate and an active member of Eco Warriors Nagaland, where I work towards advancing ecological conservation and community-based environmental awareness across the state.
My journey in conservation is deeply rooted in my love for birding and my appreciation for nature in its many forms. I am grateful for the mentors who have guided me along the way, and I continue to grow as an aspiring conservationist, driven by the belief that “perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection, we can catch excellence.”
Through my involvement with Eco Warriors Nagaland and in collaboration with the Wokha Forest Division, I have actively participated in a range of initiatives, including tree plantation and reforestation programmes, waste management and plastic reduction campaigns, and biodiversity conservation efforts. I have also contributed to environmental awareness by engaging with school students, delivering presentations, and interacting with communities across villages in Wokha district.
Professionally, I have worked as a Jal Shakti Fellow (Intern) with the Public Health Engineering Department, where I supported the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission at the local level. I have also served as a Field Assistant with the Nagaland Pollution Control Board, assisting in field monitoring, data collection, and compliance-related activities.
My work often involves coordinating with government bodies, local organisations, and community groups, ensuring effective implementation of programmes and fostering collaboration. I am committed to promoting sustainable practices, strengthening community engagement, and contributing meaningfully to environmental stewardship in Nagaland.
